Romeo and Juliet is a play about two lovers who fought to be together, but became separated due to others fights; leading to their deaths. When Romeo and Juliet met it was love at first sight. When they find out that a last name will separate them, they are both sad. Juliets cousin Tybalt then gets in an altercation with Romeos friend Mercutio. Mercutio then dies. When Romeo kills Tybalt, who is Juliets cousin, Juliet knows they may never be together. Romeo is then exiled from Verona. By this time Romeo and Juliet have already been secretly married by the Friar. Juliet is so upset she tells her parents that she refuses to marry Paris. Also that she loves Romeo and not Paris. This leads to her and the Friar their secret plan that fails; that leads to Romeo and Juliets deaths. In Romeo and Juliet, coincidental events, that lead to Romeo and Juliets deaths can be observed through Mercutio and Tybalt just happen to cross paths on a street in Verona, Friar Laurence ing Juliet, and Juliets parents picking who Juliet should marry. The first aim pointing towards coincidental events that lead to Romeo and Juliets death is Mercutio and Tybalt crossing paths on a Verona street, and dueling. This is coincidental because Mercutio is Romeos friend, and Romeo is a Montague. It is also coincidental for Tybalt because he is Juliets cousin, and Juliet is a Capulet. This is putting yet another tension between Romeo nad Juliet. In (1.5.61-63), Tybalt say, “Uncle this is a Montague, our foe, a villain that is hither come in spite, to scorn at our solemnity this night.” Tybalt says this because Romeo is at the Capulets party, the Montagues enemy. Coincidental events that lead to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is Romeo killing Tybalt. All the Capu… … middle of paper … … much of something good it will give you a stomach ache. That is the final reason that coincidental events lead to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. So as one can see there were alot of things that lead up to Romeo and Juliets deaths. I only named a few but many different opinions and problems lead up to it. I felt that in Romeo and Juliet, coincidental events, that lead to Romeo and Juliets deaths can be observed through Mercutio and Tybalt just happen to cross paths on a street in Verona, Friar Laurence ing Juliet, and Juliets parents picking who Juliet should marry. I proved my opinion of those by stating quotes that related to my reasons and explaining what they meant and why i felt that way. Shakespeare, William. Romeo and Juliet. Woodbury, NY: Barron’s, 1985.
