It’s Hard to Live on Minimum Wage I did not believe when I heard that there are people who live in the richest country in the world who do not have access to food and shelter. I thought all the people that lived in United States had food and shelter because to me the United States was a powerful country that didn’t have people who live in poverty , unlike the People who live in Africa that don’t have any of those. But it’s hard to believe that thousands of people are living in poverty and they are having a hard time finding jobs so they can provide for their family. This issue has been like this for more than 60 years, the government and communities used to fight over this problem but still this issue has not been solved. It’s harder to get out of the poverty than most people think because they don’t get enough support from our society. Minimum wage does not support the people who work at minimum wage. They do not earn enough money to be financially stable. For example a lady named Barbara, was a middle class lady who had money, but she wanted to know how life in minimum wage would be like and how people who live in minimum wage income survive with that low income, so she left her house, her money and got a minimum wage job. With that minimum wage even though is not enough but she had to pay her bills, food and clothes just like the people who live in minimum wages. One day lady lived with Barbara wanted lunch, and she didn’t have enough money, so she didn’t want to waste all her money to buy food, so she bought chips for lunch. The reason why she did that was because she wanted to keep her money to pay the bills, and some other important things. After she lived that life for a while she found out that this minimum wage life is… … middle of paper … … poor people don’t have a high school diploma which will cause them not to have bright future. High diploma s people to get a nice job. Plus you will earn more money when you have a high school diploma. We need to kids who live in poverty by providing with support for them to graduate from high school. We all know the issues that poor people face every day. There are a lot of solutions to poor people to become more stable. One solution is that the government can create more jobs, so poor people would be able to work. Another solution is that the government can increase the amount of minimum wage, so poor people can support their families. The government also can give the poor people more money and enough food stamps. These solutions will poor people to become financially stabled. It will also them and their children to have a brighter future
