Initially, I was not confident having my writing assessed by an online tool, as I anticipated numerous errors. Although I did well at English in high school and enjoy creative writing, I am aware that my formal writing is not up to the high standard required at university. Surprisingly, I did receive some positive feedback from the online tools and discovered I had followed many of the principles outlined by Grellier and Goerke (2006). These results were pleasing and boosted my confidence; however, I identified several areas which need improvement. The online tools ed me to pinpoint specific areas that require my attention.
