How The Constitution Endangered Freedom
The US constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787 and brought together, in one remarkable document, ideas from many people and several existing documents, including the Articles of Confederation and Declaration of Independence. Those who made significant intellectual contributions to the constitution are called the founding fathers (Jordan, 2012). This essay will discuss why some of the founding fathers thought that the constitution would endanger freedom, the response they received from those who supported the constitution and how they thought the constitution would improve freedom.
According to Hamilton (2009), when the constitution was adopted, some of the founding fathers opposed it because they felt that the constitution would endanger freedom. These thoughts emerged from the fact that the document contained no Bill of Rights to safeguard certain basic freedoms.
